New Vision Dance Company presented Perennial Motion 2015 this July at the Garden Theatre in Columbus, OH. To prepare and market their show, Artistic Director Melissa Gould and I worked to create fantastic images that displayed this perennial theme. We took inspiration from flowers for their bright colors and effortless beauty. The dancers were tasked with creating movements, using the fabric, that emulated the intricate floral shapes. The challenge was great, and made even more difficult by the wind we experienced that day. The wind was sometimes helpful, but most of the time blew in the opposite direction than desired. Regardless of the challenges these dancers worked hard and we achieved some gorgeous images to promote their show.
